Ammolite has been found in only one place in the world (to date). It is known worldwide for the intensity of its colors and the sheer number of colors and shades in each single stone. Ammolite is the opalized, fossilized shell of ammonites -- those neat prehistoric creatures that lived in spiral shells. It comes only from Southern Alberta, Canada. The particular piece here is in shades of purple, green and blue. It is truly a unique piece.
